A Step Back In Time, Heatherwood Admin Building
Welcome to Heatherwood in picture. This page carries some photo's of Heatherwood Hospital, admin building & the sunken garden(Garden Court) at the rear.
As part of the original build for the hospital it was also the front entrance where the drive from the London road brought you to the front door. An old black and white postcard picture from the 1920's captures the original view.
Where possible we have detailed some information about the pictures.

The slide show pictures from 1 to 2 show the Admin building & Garden Court captured in the 1920's.
The sunken garden area was originally called "Garden Court". Picture 2 is taken from the original annual report from 1923.

The slide show picture 3, was taken from an advertising brochure for nursing staff.
Heatherwood Admin Building & Sunken Garden 2005
The slide show pictures from 4 to 10 show the Admin building in colour and from different views including the sunken garden at the rear. At this time the front entrance was obscured by an operating theatre.
Heatherwood Admin Building & Sunken Garden 2007
The slide show pictures from 11 to 16. In 2007 a blue safety rail was added around the sunken garden at the rear of the admin building.Sadly this addition does nothing to enhance the outlook of the area.

In 2016 the area was captured on video by the league of friends treasurer. Videos 17 & 18 on the media playlist.
The front view of the admin building is still obscured by an external building at the side,in video 17.
