Heatherwood Wards 1920's
The first picture in the slideshow shows wards 1,2,3. The original build of the hospital was only three wards. The hospital was built as a specialist TB hospital for children.
Heatherwood Wards 2005
In the last ten years there has been substantial changes to the use of the wards plus renovations and additions. The pleasant outlook from the veranda's of wards 1,2, or 3 have been obscured by the additions of wards 1G and 16.
The centre green in earlier years was the focal point for the annual fete's. The development of the hospital the site has left very little of the original centre green space.

Ward 5 has been converted to urology clinic, medical assessment ward has closed along with ward 16, Ward 10, Ward 7G formerly Gynae has also closed.
